The green building initiative is one of the most successful and stringent programs of its kind in the country.
Started by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface Energy Institute, EarthCraft House serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment.
Only five percent of the new homes constructed in Atlanta are able to meet EarthCraft House requirements that include site preservation; energy use; water conservation; sustainable materials; and the health of the occupants.
